Grammy Award winner Mya, who was scheduled to take over the role of Velma Kelly in the hit musical Chicago, May 12-July 13, has been sidelined with a broken foot, forcing a delay in her highly anticipated Broadway debut. Additional information will be announced as it becomes available.

Mya is best known for recording such hit songs as "Lady Marmalade," "Case of the Ex," "Take Me There," "Fallen," and "Ghetto Superstar." She also appeared in the film version of Chicago as Mona.

Chicago features a score by John Kander and the late Fred Ebb, including such hits as "All That Jazz," "Mister Cellophane," "Razzle Dazzle" and "Nowadays." The production is directed by Walter Bobbie with choreography by Ann Reinking. The musical won six 1997 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical.
