The Broadway production of David Hare's The Vertical Hour, directed by Sam Mendes, will end its limited engagement at the Music Box Theatre on March 11, three weeks earlier than was previously announced. The show is expected to recoup its capitalization as of that week.

The shows stars Julianne Moore as Nadia, a war correspondent turned Yale professor who takes a brief holiday in Wales with her boyfriend (Andrew Scott). While there, she meets his father, Oliver, (Bill Nighy), an esteemed doctor whose beliefs challenge her way of thinking.

In his TheaterMania review, David Finkle wrote: "With its strong American female protagonist, The Vertical Hour is a return to the plays The Secret Rapture and Strapless which Hare tailored for red-haired actress Blair Brown when they were an item in the 1980s. Apparently, he still has more to say on those subjects. While he takes a while getting there, what Hare eventually says about the choices we make is worth hearing."
