Sweeney Todd hosts a CD signing, Rabbit Hole opens on Broadway, and Vanessa Williams visits Darius de Haas at Birdland.







Following the Tuesday evening, January 31 performance of the new Broadway production of the Stephen Sondheim masterpiece Sweeney Todd at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, Sondheim joined the company in signing copies of the show's cast album for the public. Here's the great man (at right) with Michael Cerveris and Patti LuPone, who play Todd and Mrs. Lovett in the show.
















Among the other cast members present for the signing: Alexander Gemignani, who plays the Beadle, pretending to be Manoel Felciano...

...and Donna Lynn Champlin, who plays Pirelli.




















Last night, the Manhattan Theatre Club production of David Lindsay-Abaire's Rabbit Hole opened on Broadway at the Biltmore. Pictured here during curtain calls are two of the show's stars: Cynthia Nixon, the well respected stage actress who is best known for her role of Miranda Hobbes on TV's Sex and the City...


















...and Tyne Daly, another TV star (Cagney and Lacey, Judging Amy), who has triumphed in stage productions and concerts of Gypsy, Call Me Madam, and On the Town...



















The after-party for the Rabbit Hole opening was held at the China Club, directly across the street from the theater. Among those present were Nixon and Daly's fellow cast members: John Slattery, last seen on Broadway in the 2000 revival of Betrayal...

















...Mary Catherine Garrison (The Foreigner, Assassins, Debbie Does Dallas...






















...and John Gallagher, Jr., who previously appeared in Lindsay-Abaire's Kimberly Akimbo.
