WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
With the backdrop of apartheid, this musical is about a 1950s South African vocal group of mixed race. The show offers a look at "Cape Coloured", the mixed race community of Cape Town and the cast provides fine performances. The engaging score blends American music with African influences.

Kat and the Kings is the show that Broadway has been waiting for: a crowd-pleasing, foot-stomping, singing and dancing joyfest: a musical with a brain that entertains and uplifts with high spirits and high energy. It's deceptively simple: six dazzlingly talented perfomers, a compact but copacetic onstage band, some snappy costumes, two dozen tuneful numbers, a straightforward storyline, and that's about all.
