Synopsis

Four-time Tony Award nominee Tovah Feldshuh returns to Broadway following a critically-acclaimed and sold-out Off-Broadway run in Irena's Vow!

Dan Gordon's play is the uplifting true story about one of the most courageous and unsung heroines of World War II. During the German occupation of Poland, Irena Gut Opdyke (played by Feldshuh), a Polish Catholic, was forced to work as head housekeeper for a very prominent Nazi major. Over a two year period of service, Irena would risk her own life in order to save the lives of twelve Jewish refugees whom she secretly took under her care. Michael Parva directs.

A limited number of front row tickets will be available for purchase at the box office of the Walter Kerr Theatre for $25.00. Tickets are available the day of the performance when the box office opens and will require a valid student I.D. (2 tickets per I.D., cash only).

This is a heartfelt show, one that should not be missed. The twists of the true story stop your heart, and the courageousness and kindness shown by Irena played by the remarkable actress Tovah Feldshuh takes your breath away. Everyone needs to know this story! An incredible play, with excellent acting and a fascinating story.

Review: Don't miss Irena's Vow! by Diane La Rue by laruediane2000

I saw Irenas Vow during Holy Week/Passover, and it really set the tone for the holiday. Tovah Feldshuh is remarkable, she becomes the young Irena before our very eyes. She is sure to receive a Tony nomination. This would be a wonderful play for high schoolers to see, the idea of how the courage of one woman can make such a difference would resonate with them. It was very moving when the real daughter of Irena came onstage and answered questions from the audience. Dont miss this amazing show!

Review: RE:"Irena's Vow" Is A Must See Show! by DaleYoung

"Irenas Vow" is a true story about a 19 year old girl who risked her life to save the lives of twelve people facing certain extermination during the holocaust, brilliantly staged by Michael Parva and acted by an incredible cast headed by the incomparable Tovah Feldshuh. I loved this show so much that I offered all my friends a money back guarantee on the price of their tickets. Dozens of my friends saw the show. They loved it and are spreading the word too. I hope to see several Tony nominations next month!
