RE:A MISCONCEIVED "ENRON"
This would have worked much better without all the hokey scenic,lighting, and ear-splitting sound effects.Its too bad that a potentally fine play with excellent performances and a sound dramatic base was all but buried in this misconceived and noisy production. It should be revived with more emphsis on the solid story line and less on the needless exesses. Then it would be the fine play it is capable of being.

The challenge of disguising a stage documentary so it doesn't look like one gets wrestled to the ground by playwright Lucy Prebble and director Rupert Goold in Enron, which -- after making several acclaimed stops in England -- has come to Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre with an all-American cast giving it the old razzle-dazzle.
