Emmy Award winner Alfre Woodard makes her Broadway debut this season in Drowning Crow, an adaptation of Chekhov's The Seagull by Regina Taylor. The new play is produced by Manhattan Theatre Club, and directed by Marion McClinton. The play takes place on the Gullah Islands off the coast of modern-day South Carolina, as a family of African-American artists comes together for a very momentous few days. Woodard plays the family matriarch, classical actress Josephine Nicholas Ark Trip. She joins Anthony Mackie (8 Mile) who plays her son, Constantine, aka C-Trip.
