Dame Edna: The Royal Tour received a special Tony Award this year for Best Live Theatrical Event. Event, indeed. Part musical, part stand-up comedy act, this one-man (or is that one-woman?) show features Australian national treasure Barry Humphries as the one and only Dame Edna Everage. In his/her Broadway debut, the middle-aged megastar Dame Edna discusses her San Francisco-based son Kenny, the Windsors, Kenneth Starr, baby-sitters, and her most important creation, The 2000 Prostate Olympics.
Running Time: 2 hours, 15 minutes (15 minute intermission) Children ages 4 and under are not permitted in the theater.
Dame Edna chooses audience members to participate on stage. People are usually chosen from the center orchestra, within the first five rows.
