Synopsis

Burn the Floor, the electrifying Latin and Ballroom dance spectacular that has thrilled audiences in over 30 countries, will be the first show of the new Broadway season!

The show is created, directed, and choreographed by Jason Gilkison, former World Champion Latin and Ballroom dancer, and guest choreographer on the fourth season of So You Think You Can Dance. This blend of Latin and Ballroom dance was first conceived as a special performance at Sir Elton John's 50th birthday celebration in 1997. Two years later, the show made its world premiere in the U.K. and quickly took the globe by storm.

From Harlem's hot nights at The Savoy, where dances such as the Lindy, Foxtrot and Charleston were born, to the Latin Quarter where the Cha-Cha, Rumba and Salsa steamed up the stage, Burn the Floor takes audiences on a journey through the passionate drama of dance. The elegance of the Viennese Waltz, the exuberance of the Jive, the intensity of the Paso Doble - audiences will experience them all, as well as the Tango, Samba, Mambo, Quickstep, and Swing. It's Ballroom dance with a sexy 21st century edge.

The production's 18 award-winning international dancers hail from around the globe -- Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Russia, Australia, Sweden, The Philippines and the U.S. -- and include Australian Ballroom and World Latin American champions. The dancers, who collectively hold more than 100 dance titles, move to the vision of artistic director and choreographer Jason Gilkison.

Review: Loved it both times by rej4713

I saw the show twice. Once with Maks and Karina and once with Pasha and Anya. Loved it both times and would have gone back to see it a 3rd time if it were still on Broadway. The energy, music, costumes....everything was amazing. I hope it comes back again soon!

Review: That Stage Was On Fire! by gerda1

I had the pleasure of attending the preview of Burn The Floor on August 2 and sat in my seat during the first half of the show with my mouth opened! Not only were the dancers, their moves, their energy and their chemistry with each other exhilarating to watch, but you got it all seemingly nonstop! The second half of the show, I couldnt help but get up and "shake" it! Im definitely returning to see the show with friends!

Review: RE:Fantastic Show by aileenhome

Just saw the show 2 nights ago - what a fantastic feel-good show. There is non-stop dancing, great costumes, great music, 2 great singers. We were amazed by the speed, grace, and agility of every dancer. Every person left the theater in a great mood. I hope to go back again!
