Mike Nichols' revival is probably not what Harold Pinter intended, but who cares? It's a damn good evening of theater.
WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Written in 1978 and told using reverse chronology, Betrayal follows the love triangle of Emma (Rachel Weisz), who is married to Robert (Daniel Craig), but has been carrying on a long-term love affair with Jerry (Rafe Spall), Robert's best friend. The work won the 1979 Olivier Award for Best New Play and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play (foreign). It was last seen on Broadway in 2000 in a production that starred Liev Schreiber, Juliette Binoche, and John Slattery.
