I was so excited to see Robin Williams, and then just as disappointed with this play....the worst Ive seen!
Thought provoking...Touching.. If you live in the REAL world and not just a small corner you will connect with this up to date drama of men and their values and beliefs. Best show on Broadway!! Robin Williams Is the tiger...
A little girl led off stage to be raped....a handjob on stage....struggling to get laughs by using the "f" word as many ways as they can think of. I dont remember a show where the crowd thins out during the intermission...people just left the theater!! With all the shows on Broadway, there are much better shows to spend your time and money on.
Watching a little girl let off stage to be raped....a handjob on stage....using "f bombs" to get laughs at least over and over and over...seemed to be the first and last words of the show. Given the choices on Broadway, shows to spend your time and money upon, pass on this one.
and if that is what you are looking for, then this is not the piece of work for you. If, on the other hand, you are looking for an interpretation of brilliant insights into how we are shaped or rather manipulated by our environment and our struggle as humans for some token of control, then this IS for YOU!! Bengal Tiger is truly a beautiful story that follows the evolution of intimate characters in an environment where nothing is really lovely. I am grateful that the violence, while effectively delivered, was subtle and understated. I am grateful for performers willing to rip their hearts out on the stage for several shows a day, seven days a week. Go with an open mind and an open heart and you will be affected...
Robin Williams was wonderful--funny and touching. The rest of the cast was very good, too. The play was really interesting and has stayed with me. The story didnt really end--but neither do todays real wars!
This is supposed to be a comedy. I found nothing funny about the play. I wanted to see the play because of Robin Williams but was very disappointed. It is very vulgar. Cursing is used non-stop. I find the play very political, picturing American soldiers fighting in Iraq as stupid and naive not knowing what they are doing there. I do not recommend to see this play. Very surprized it made it to the Broadway.
