WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Winner of the 2004 Tony Award for Best Musical!!!
Avenue Q is set in NYC on a street which is described as the only place you can afford to live when you're just out of college, out of a job, or just plain broke. The musical features a cast of 20-something live actors and singing puppets. Jason Moore directs this new musical for grown-ups written by Jeff Whitty, with music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx. Avenue Q is a co-production by the Vineyard Theatre and The New Group, and is also the recipient of Tony Awards for Best Original Score (music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx), Best Book of a Musical (Jeff Whitty), and the 2003 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical for its Off-Broadway run.
"Popular" tickets are sold by lottery the day of the performance for $21.25. Lottery cards are available beginning at 5:30pm for 8:00pm shows and 11:30am for 2:00pm shows. Each winner can purchase up to 2 tickets.

Studies over the last how-ever-many years indicate that children are beginning to mature physically and psychologically at an earlier age than ever before; evidently, adolescence is getting underway before the literal adolescent years. So far, no studies have confirmed that adolescence is also lasting longer -- through the 20s or even the early 30s -- but the highly entertaining yet somewhat troubling Avenue Q could serve as anecdotal evidence of this hypothesis.
Here's a jaunty new musical, transferred from Off-Broadway to Broadway at a reported cost of $3 million, about a streetful of unemployed twentysomethings who are either unable or disinclined to grow up. (One of them readily admits [...]
