About This Venue
Actors Workshop Theatre Training Institute, Inc., is a non-profit organization founded in 1956. It is New England's first theatre school devoted to the training of actors for stage and related work in film and television. A full time day program with aTheatre Arts Certificate is offered. There are also part time programs in the evening and on weekends. Participants' goals include individual self-improvement, enhanced communication skills, honing existing theatrical skills and preparation for full time study in the future. Components of study include basic acting, speech, improvisation and movement techniques.

The workshop has recently moved to an exciting new space in the Fort Point arts community - the TriBeca of Boston. They are constructing two new performing spaces to accommodate both traditional proscenium productions and more intimate experimental work. There will also be a state of the art video center to support our on camera classes. A spacious lobby will host art work from the many visual artists in the Fort Point community. The new workshop is a few short blocks from South Station, convenient to both MBTA and commuter rail.

Actors Workshop holds membership in Stage Source, Bostix, Arts Boston and the Fort Point Arts Society.
