WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Cotuit Center for the Arts, 4404 Falmouth Road (Rte. 28) in Cotuit is proud to present The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield. Directed by Patrick Pope, the play is a whirlwind roller coaster tribute to the immortal Bard. The production, which opens on February 20 - March 8, is appropriate for all ages; for lovers of Shakespeare and for those experiencing Shakespeare for the first time.
Three actors (David B. Biggs, David A. McCarron and Holly Erin McCarthy) take on the daunting task of performing 37 plays and 154 sonnets in less than two hours, illuminating the world of Shakespeare through the use of football, swordplay and hip-hop music. Irreverent and hilarious, this comedy sensation will delight audiences with a refreshing blend of madcap humor that includes everything from puns and pratfalls to elaborate sight gags. The side-splitting action will leave theater goers of all ages rolling in the aisles, and wildly cheering the mad-cap actors as they bound hilariously, and sometimes backwards, through the Bard's works.
