RE:A Very Pleasant Surprise
When first going to see a play that, that has had a 30 year run, the last thing youd expect is to find a script that is fresh and alive. But that is exactly what Shear Madness delivers. They have kept the script and set, both current and relevant. The acting is superb, as the love for theater, and the dedication of the actors, comes forcefully at you. On this night, there were barely 20 people in the audience. It was surely a great opportunity for the cast to "mail it in", rather than to deliver the enthusiastic performances that each and every cast member delivered. And, make no mistake about it. This cast is top notch. Each played their part perfectly. And when it came time for the audience to participate in this comical who-dunnit, the enthusiasm of the actors had spilled over into the willing audience. Even if youve seen this show before, you owe it to yourself to see it again. You never know how the second half will go. And, unless youve seen every ending, youre sure to walk away amazed. This is theater the way it was meant to be.
