Sol y Canto's performances will be a CD Release Concert for their new recording, "Cada Dia un Regalo/Each Day a Gift" as well as a repeat performance of their 2007 hit, Noche de Muertos: Welcoming our Ancestors Home, a new multimedia celebration of Mexico's Day and Night of the Dead!
Sol y Canto has joined Melodic Vision for a program melding Sol y Canto's live music with the rich sound of bowed string instruments, compelling storytelling, and stunning imagery by renowned photographer/historian Susan Wilson, projected onstage on a large screen. In addition to the theater performances, we will have an added special attraction at the Donahue Center, adjacent to the theater. Between the 5 PM and 8 PM shows, Mexican Folkloric Ballet Xuchipilli's dancers will perform in full costume, and Jose's Mexican Restaurant will offer traditional "Day of the Dead" foods such as tamales, pan de muertos (Day of the Dead bread), and hot chocolate. Join Sol y Canto for this unique celebration!
