Synopsis

A blind man hiding from the world and a not-so-gay hustler find common ground in listening to the music of life. A teenage Catholic makes mortal sin environmentally responsible. A cantaloupe cries out for yes. An HIV-positive grandmother mourns the family life denied to her, but finds courage in truth. A society wife and a back-alley drunk search for family and fantasy. And who can say when love lasts a little too long? These are the six stories, including several world premieres, featured in Gods, Monsters, and the Other, Fort Point Theatre Channel's first festival of new works for the stage. They were selected from over 200 submissions from all over the United States, as well as from Europe and Africa. The six pieces in the festival cover a wide range of styles, from comedy to suspense, romance to real life.
