John Kuntz: One Funny Actor, Forty hilarious characters!
The Lyric Stage Company presents the hilarious comedy Fully Committed, by Becky Mode and directed by Spiro Veloudos. Elliot Norton Award-winning actor John Kuntz stars in this devastatingly funny portrayal of one day in the life of an out-of-work actor who mans the red-hot reservation line at Manhattan's number one restaurant. Coercion, threats, bribes - desperate callers will stop at nothing to land a prime reservation. Kuntz plays 40 wildly diverse characters in this holiday treat.

A few weeks ago, Boston-based actor John Kuntz was a cold-blooded Richard III with the Actors' Shakespeare Project; but, for the holiday season, he has turned into 40 comic characters in the Lyric Stage's charming Fully Committed. Becky Mode's sweet frappé of a script provides a great showcase for someone of Kuntz's range. Similar to the David Sedaris classic The Santaland Diaries -- for which Kuntz won the "Outstanding Solo Performance" award from IRNE, the Independent Reviewers of New England -- the piece concerns Sam, a put-upon schlepper who's struggling to remain calm and dutiful even as he's assailed by shirkers, egotists, and general chaos.
