Casting has been announced for the Boston Playwrights' Theatre production of The Oil Thief, November 6-23, which will feature direction by Judy Braha.

Developed over the past two years with a company of actors and Braha, The Oil Thief is an intimate story of a love partnership in jeopardy. The cast will star Melinda Lopez as Amy, an oil geologist; Sheldon Best, as a young African translator; and Will Lyman as Amy's long-time partner.

Van Dyke's play was commissioned in 2006 by the Ensemble Studio Theatre/Alfred P. Sloan Project. Her other works include Love in the Gulf, A Girl's War, The Earring, and Not My Real Mother.
