WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
SUZANNE CARRICO, winner of the 2008 MAC Award for Best Female Debut for THE ART OF THE CAHN, Music from the Sammy Cahn Songbook, will celebrate the Christmas season & her new holiday CD, WHAT CHRISTMAS TIME MEANS TO ME, with her Boston debut at Club Café. She will be accompanied by Pat Firth on piano. Joining Suzanne will be her special guests Sue Matsuki & Edd Clark.
On the CD are tunes ranging from the popular ("Silver Bells," "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm" by Irving Berlin & "Baby It's Cold Outside/Let It Snow" by the wonderful Frank Loesser, Jule Styne & Sammy Cahn) to the spiritual ("What Child is This," "Little Drummer Boy," "Do You Hear What I Hear" & "Gesu Bambino") to an original tune by Musical Director Don Rebic, "Merry Christmas to Us All."
Suzanne attended the Sundance Institute with the Mabel Mercer Foundation, working with Margaret Whiting, Melissa Manchester, Charles Strouse, Michael Rupert, Jimmy Webb, Billy Stritch & Don Rebic, which inspired her to return to her roots in Musical Theatre & the Great American Song for her MAC Award winning show THE ART OF THE CAHN, Songs from The Sammy Cahn Songbook.
