WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
A well-meaning but unreliable clown attempts to explain the Book of Genesis. Were Adam and Eve set up to fail? Did Abraham truly intend to sacrifice his son? Why did Lot's wife really turn into a pillar of salt? Through household objects, puppets, physical theater and live music, Thingumajig Theatre creates a world where profane objects are sacred and the sacred is hilarious.
Conventional themes of the Old Testament are given a new twist through non-traditional puppet styles. Using his body as a well-tuned instrument, Andrew Kim transforms the ordinary into an exciting stream of conscience that transcends traditional storytelling. His shop-worn stage converts into a Punch and Judy booth, forks turn into biblical characters, and a desk becomes an oven. The lively musical accompaniment of Kathy Bradley sets he mood of each piece that sometimes takes a life of its own. It is thought provoking, avant-garde, and versatile: a perfect show for those looking to question the familiar and experience the extraordinary. The Vertigo of Sheep has achieved critical acclaim and was the recipient for the UNIMA Citation for Excellence in Puppetry in 2006.
