WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The United States, 1953. The Cold War is on, and Ethel and Julius Rosenberg have been accused of espionage and sentenced to death. In this, perhaps the most famous spy case of the 20th century and in the lead-up to the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) hearings, the Rosenbergs' love affair broke bounds. Hailed in Denmark as "Best Opera of 2015," The Rosenbergs is adapted from the Rosenbergs' letters from jail. Through the lens of Joseph McCarthy's witch hunts, the work asks this question: "Would you die for love?"
