WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Following on the heels of Edward Albee's numerous appearances throughout New England this season, the playwright's complex, provocative off-Broadway hit The Play About the Baby receives its Boston premiere in a co-production between Mill 6 Theatre Collaborative and Boston Directors Lab. Jeremy Johnson directs. Written after the Pulitzer-Prize winning Three Tall Women and shortly before The Goat, Baby has drawn comparisons in theme and style to Albee's most recognized work, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? The Boy and Girl are madly in love and have just had a baby. The Man and Woman enter this paradise and proceed, through hysterical and harmful games of memory and trickery to "take the baby". Reality and illusion clash in a clever, well-articulated battle of wills. There is an additional performance Sunday, Oct. 24 at 3pm. Appropriate for audiences 16 and older.
