WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a hilarious tale that chronicles the experience of six youngsters vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. Making its Boston premiere after having been born at the Barrington Stage Company in the Berkshires, Spelling Bee is directed by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winner James Lapine, who also directed the Broadway production. The show's creative team has created the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of characters for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time.
