Shocked by the many changes in her life, Mary could easily be tempted to feel sorry for herself. She was an orphan, after all, and suddenly transported out her familiar India to the mansion of her strange uncle, who obviously does not like children. There are other strange secrets about the house, too, not the least of which were those strange moaning noises coming from somewhere upstairs. And she wasn't allowed to explore or ask questions or bother anyone! Soon springtime transforms the moor , and with it brings a thaw that softens Mary's self-centered stubbornness and awakens her natural curiosity. With the help of Dickon, a Yorkshire boy, Mary coaxes her mysterious and sickly cousin Colin out into the world to share the joy of regeneration. All hearts will melt in this winning Broadway musical version of the classic story by Frances Hodgson Burnett
