WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
This is not your niece's Nutcracker! The favorite Christmas show is torn limb from limb in this campy new vaudevillian ballet that mixes American swing, jazz and hints of Tchaikovsky with the traditional orchestral suite. Nothing is sacred as Nut/Cracked twists and melds tap dancing, singing and even thumbsucking(!) into a percussive ode to American eclecticism that The New Yorker says "retains a sense of beauty even in the ridiculous!" Nut/Cracked is co-produced with Pearl Productions.
