WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

American Repertory Theatre opens its 2003-2004 season with an adaptation of Anton Chekhov's beloved short-story Lady with a Lapdog, written and staged by Kama Ginkas, a Russian director whose interpretations of Dostoevsky and Chekhov have made him one of Russia's most celebrated directors. The story follows an illicit love affair in the seaside resort of Yalta.
