WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Oscar Wilde's relationship wiht Lord Alfred Douglas has inspired contemporary writers for decades. In this heartbreaking account of a love tested to destruction, David Hare presents his powerful interpretation of what may have happened behind closed doors. This wildly intellegent play lays bare the drama of two critical moments in Wilde's last years: the day he decides to stay in England and face imprisonment and the night after his release, two years later when his lover for whom he risked and lost everything betrays him. THE JUDAS KISS presents the consequences of taking an uncompromising moral position in a world defined by fear, expedience and conformity.
Please note: this production contains adult situations and both male and female nudity.

And the two gratuitous nude scenes meant to raise the temperature are unsuccessful as well.
Overall, the direction of this production (by Spiro Veloudos) feels like pai[...]
