Heading For Eureka centers on George and Martha and their teenage children Dick and Jane. The family, along with their pet Toto, goes on what initially appears to be a "traditional" family trip across the country. When they SUV explodes in the desert and they decide to strike-out on foot, the true nature of their journey to Eureka becomes apparent as they encounter a comical crew of characters.
