WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Dr. Wendy Lippe directs and Jessica Ernst assistant directs The Psych Drama Company's production of Hamlet, a presentation of Shakespeare's infamous play that sheds new light on its familiar characters. Hamlet marks the inaugural production of The Psych Drama Company, whose mission is to integrate the worlds of theater and clinical psychology. Each performance will be coupled with a discussion led by a professional in the fields of psychology and/or criminal justice. To learn more about this exciting collaboration and to view the schedule of discussions, visit http://www.thepsychdramacompany.com/papers--presentations.html. The production also features a female Hamlet and transports the action to a contemporary setting, complete with a score by Boston indie band Varsity Drag. In focusing on the psychology behind the piece and adding these modern touches for a more immediate feel, The Psych Drama Company invites audiences: Come reflect on Hamlet like you never have before. Come reflect on yourself.
