WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Marking the 10th anniversary of the fall of apartheid, the A.R.T. presents a Festival of South African Theatre, which will include theatre, music, workshops, and lectures that explore the intersection between art and social justice. Three theatrical productions will be at the center of the festival:

The Syringa Tree: An internationally acclaimed memory play from A.R.T. veteran actor Pamela Gien.
Loeb Stage: December 30, 2004 - January 16, 2005

Foreign Aids: An evening with the satirist Pieter-Dirk Uys, who performs an arsenal of characters from Nelson Mandela to Mrs. Evita Bezuidenhout, "the most famous white woman in South Africa."
Theatre at Zero Arrow: January 5-23, 2005

Nothing But the Truth: An autobiographical drama by John Kani, South Africa's leading actor.
Loeb Stage: January 21-30, 2005
