WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

SpeakEasy Stage Company at the Boston Center for the Arts presents The Dying Gaul, written by Craig Lucas. Robert is a Hollywood screenwriter still mourning the death of his lover from AIDS when he meets Jeffrey, a high-stakes Hollywood producer who wants to greenlight Robert's script. The offer on the table is a million dollars, but only if Robert agrees to rewrite his story's main character as straight. As the negotiations progress, the two men begin a tempestuous affair, which only gets more complicated when Robert is introduced to Jeffrey's wife Elaine. It is Robert who then introduces Elaine to the dark allure of Internet chat rooms, where Elaine ensnares Robert in her own web of deceit. Eric C. Engel directs this searing drama.
