WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Don will be filming and recording these two concerts for a new DVD. Be sure to get your tickets early for these very special shows.

Don White is a unique, acoustic/folk singer/humorist with a background in standup comedy.

White and Jimmy Tingle became friends in the late '80s when they worked regularly at Catch a Rising Star in Harvard Square. Jimmy Tingle will welcome the audience with a 20 to 30 minute set, and White will then take over.

With 7 CDs under his belt and an impressive collection of positive publicity regarding his live shows, Don has also been embraced by NPR and other radio stations around the country. Much of the material that this artist touches upon concerns the trials and tribulations of raising teenagers and it is done with humor, heart and a generous helping of humanity.

The Boston Globe proclaimed: "No artist on the coffeehouse circuit today is better than Don White at combining the heartfelt aesthetics of the singer-songwriter with side-splitting laughs." New York's noted critic from the Village Voice, Robert Christgau, gave Don's release Brown Eyes Shine an A- in his Consumer Guide column and Stereo Review magazine calls "I Know Exactly What Love is" from Don's Rascal release, "in the running for Song Of The Year."

John Weingart from WPRB radio in Princeton, NJ had this to say about Don's show: "Over the past 20 years, I have presented more than 60 concerts and I don't think anyone has evoked the laughter and instant requests that I bring him back soon as Don White. Both as the audience walked out and in the weeks since, people have been raving to me, saying how much, although they hadn't realized it in advance, they 'needed' an evening like that, and that they keep chuckling as parts of the concert come back to them. As a fellow audience member, I would add that the funny part is that much of Don White's performance was also quite moving and beautiful but that was subsumed, though not lost, in the heartfelt humor." Musician, comedian, father, and seasoned entertainer, Don's artful perspective has entertained fans all over the USA via airplay and live performances.
