Two and the Bush Productions and Improv Asylum present Burlesque Exposes Bush; or, How Dubya Got Kerry'd Away at Improv Asylum. The show debuted to packed houses during the Democratic National Convention and was featured on BBC News. The troupe then took the show on the road, entertaining Republicans and protesters alike during the Republican National Convention. The show returns to Improv Asylum just in time for the election. Democrat, Republican, Independent or swing, this is one political battle you don't want to miss!
Burlesque Exposes Bush is a throwback to the days of early American burlesque. Fishnets and high heels combine with razor-sharp political satire, while outlandish song parodies share the stage with bawdy dance numbers. In this gender-bending musical comedy, God commands George Bush to build an ark that will save all the righteous right-wing Americans, while the sinful liberal riff-raff are doomed to drown in a flood. But Bush's plans are jeopardized when Senator John Kerry and his supporters sneak onto the ark.
Performances: Friday, October 15 @ 8 pm; Friday, October 22 @ 8 pm; Saturday, October 23 @ 7 pm; Saturday, October 30 @ 7 pm; Friday, October 29 @ 8 pm
