WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Talent America's 2001 "Performer of the Year" Brian De Lorenzo makes a long-awaited return to Scullers, celebrating 40 years of professional performing. Singing selections from the Great American Songbook, the Great White Way, and the pens of great contemporary songwriters, Brian and his accompanist Bill Duffy will be joined by special guests Lynda D'Amour, Kathy St. George, & Randy Zinkus for some entertaining duetting. Worcester Magazine has said: "When a singer has a voice like Brian De Lorenzo, musicians like to say, 'He is a songwriter's best friend.' He has one of those rare voices that make first-time listeners stop and say, 'Who is that?'" Equally at home in theatres, concert halls, and clubs including venues in Boston (Club Café, Scullers, Calderwood Pavilion), New York (Birdland, Eighty-Eight's, Don't Tell Mama), Chicago, San Francisco, Puerto Vallarta, and cruise ships in Alaska and the Mediterranean, Brian has performed at the prestigious Mabel Mercer Cabaret Conventions in New York and Chicago and at three Boston Cabaret Festivals. Recent appearances include singing with Broadway performers Kathy St. George and Maureen Brennan in a celebration of New England's largest theatre organ, a 2,400-pipe "Mighty Wurlitzer" at the Hanover Theatre in Worcester; and a tribute to Frank Loesser at the Boston's Calderwood Pavilion. Brian's CD, Found Treasures was nominated for the 2000 "Recording of the Year" Award by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs (MAC). He can also be heard extensively on the original cast recording Made in America: Vaudeville Songs.
