WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
A Rose Is... includes works by Arthur Foote, Ned Rorem, William Grant Still, Amy Beach, Virgil Thomson, Charles Ives, Elliott Carter, Stephen Foster, and the premiere of "Be My Love," a commissioned work for soprano, piano, violin, and cello by Graham Gordon Ramsay. The program consists of art songs and chamber music for Valentine's Day. Performers are Mary Ann Lanier, soprano; William Merrill, piano; Mona Rashad, violin; Nicole Cariglia, cello.
