Milk Like Sugar starts its run at Huntington Theatre Company this evening.

In Kirsten Greenidge’s drama, teenager Annie’s life is just like that of other girls her age. She wants the hottest new phones and designer bags, and she’s out to date the cutest boys. But when she and her friends enter a pregnancy pact everything begins to change, and Annie is forced to question if there is a different path and a brighter future.
The play was written by Kirsten Greenidge and is directed by M. Bevin O’Gara. The cast features Ramona Lisa Alexander as Myrna, Shanae Burch as Keera, Jasmine Carmichael as Annie, Matthew J. Harris as Antwoine, Shazi Raja as Talisha, Marc Pierre as Malik, and Carolina Sanchez as Margie.

The creative team includes Cristina Todesco (set design), Junghyun Georgia Lee (costume design), M.L. Dogg (sound design), and Kevin Schlagle (stage manager).

Performances will run through February 27.
