Charles, Donovan, Karl, Keenan-Bolger, et al. to Star in Boston Grinch

Full cast and creative team have been announced for Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical, which will play the Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre, November 26-December 28. The show is directed by Matt August and was originally conceived and directed by Jack O’Brien, with original choreography by John DeLuca.

The show is based on the beloved Dr. Seuss tale that was published in 1957. The musical has book and lyrics by Timothy Mason and music by Mel Marvin; it also includes the Albert Hague songs “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas” from the classic animated TV film based on the story. It has been a long-time holiday favorite at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego and has played Broadway during the last two seasons.

The show will star Stefan Karl as the Grinch, Walter Charles as Old Max, Andrew Keenan-Bolger as Young Max, Lexie DeBlasio and Maya Goldman as Cindy Lou Who, Aaron Galligan-Stierle as Papa Who, Jackie Piro Donovan as Mama Who, Stuart Zagnit as Grandpa Who, and Rosemary Loar as Grandma Who.

Adult ensemble members include Andrew Arrington, Christina Day, Joseph Dellger, Janet Dickinson, Antionette Dipietropolo, Kelli Gautreau, Amy Griffin, Carly Hughes, Krista Kurtzberg, Sarah Katherine Mason, Josephine Rose Roberts, Shane Rhoades, and Jeff Skowron. Child ensemble members include Guy V. Barfield II, Albert Santiago, Kylie Liya Goldstein, Morgan Hecker, Carly Maitlin, Spencer Milford, Hallie Anne Richardson, Emily Sheppard, Terrance Thomas, and Janelle Viscomi.

The creative team includes Bob Richard (co-choreographer), Joshua Rosenblum (musical direction and vocal arrangments), John Lee Beatty (sets), Pat Collins (lighting), Robert Morgan (costumes), Acme Sound Partners (sound), Michael Starobin orchestrations), and Gregory Meeh (special effects).
