The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) has announced that the August 21 performances of Randy Weiner’s The Donkey Show, playing at Oberon, will feature costume contests for theatergoers, who should attend the production in their best disco outfits. At both the 8pm and 10:30pm shows, one audience member will be crowned best dressed Disco King or Queen. In addition, there will be other prizes and party favors.

Inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the piece, directed by Diane Paulus, explores the classic text behind velvet ropes in a glittered wonderland of decadence, divas, and disco.

The creative team includes Evan Morris (lighting design), Scott Pask (set design), David Remedios (sound design), and David Woolard (costume design).
