Boston Playwrights’ Theatre has announced the productions and initial casting for its 2010/2011 season.

Alice Duffy and Chloe Leamon will star in Five Down, One Across (September 30-October 24), a comedy by Michael Towers. In it, Betty relocates her 85-year-old mother to her Brookline home, but now she’s got to tell the truth about her failed marriage, her mysterious pet, her prestigious career, and her 16-year relationship with her “roommate” Sharon. Sidney Friedman will direct.

Karen MacDonald will star in Two Wives in India (October 28-November 21), Leslie Harrell Dillen. Becca and Mary Jo arrive in Delhi for the marriage of Emily, their daughter and stepdaughter respectively. Becca and Mary Jo may have had the same husband, but they share little else in common. M. Bevin O’Gara will direct.

The season will also include Dylan Thomas’ A Children’s Christmas in Wales, adapted by Burgess Clark (December 1-30); Derek Walcott’s Ti-Jean & His Brothers (February 10-March 13); and John Lipsky’s Walking the Volcano, produced in collaboration with Underground Railway Theater (April 14-May 1).
