Paul D. Farwell, Thomas Piper et al. Set for New Repertory Theatre’s Mister Roberts

Cast and creative team information has been announced for the Boston premiere of Mister Roberts, September 14-October 3, a timeless classic by Thomas Heggen and Joshua Logan. Kate Warner, New Repertory Theatre’s new Artistic Director, is set to direct.

This Tony Award-winning play opens on a restless crew aboard a cargo vessel idling in the South Pacific. When the comedic ensemble clashes with their tyrannical captain, it is Mister Roberts who must bail them out.

The cast will feature Ben Chase (Insigna), Owen Doyle (Doc), Paul D. Farwell (The Captain), Ed Hoopman (Dolan), Curt Klump (Stefanowski), Grant MacDermott (Lindstrom), Ross MacDonald (Chief Johnson/Reber/Shore Patrol Officer), Claire McClanahon (Lieutenant Anne Girard), Thomas Piper (Lieutenant JG Roberts), Jonathan Popp (Ensign Pulver), and Tim Spears (Gerhart/Military Policeman/Wiley).

The creative team will include Patrick Lynch (scenic design), Molly Trainer (costume design), and Karen Perlow (lighting design).
