Edward Hall to Direct Three Shows for Propeller’s 2010-2011 Season; U.S. Engagements Planned

The all-male U.K. theater troupe Propeller has announced the three productions that will comprise its 2010-2011 touring season. Edward Hall will direct all three productions, two of which are scheduled to play U.S. venues.

Richard III will launch its U.K. tour at Coventry Belgrade, with a November 18-20 run. Other engagements include Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Girona Festival Temporada Alta, and Lyceum Theatre Sheffield, among others. The company’s The Comedy of Errors will launch alongside Richard III at Sheffield. Both productions, which will use adaptations created by Hall with Roger Warren, will then continue to through mid-July, with performances in Norwich, Edinburgh, Chelterham, Salford, among others.

The company’s production of Comedy will also be seen at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Both this production and Richard III are also slated to play Power Center in Ann Arbor and the Huntington Theatre Company in Boston.

The creative team for the shows will include Michael Pavelka (production design) and Ben Ormerod (lighting design). Casting will be announced shortly.

The company’s third offering will be Pocket Dream, an hour-long adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which will be performed in schools around the country, with dates currently scheduled for September 14 – October 9.
