Diego Arciniegas will direct the Publick Theatre Boston’s production of Tom Stoppard’s The Real Inspector Hound, to run September 2-25 at the Boston Center for the Arts (BCA).

In the play, reality and theatricality become intertwined as two theater critics attempt to review a stage murder mystery. Casting will be announced at a later date.

The creative team will include Dahlia Al-Habieli (scenic design), Jeff Adelberg (lighting design), Molly Trainer (costume design), and John Doerschuk (sound design).

Arciniegas is artistic director of the Publick Theatre. Among his directorial credits are Les Liaisons Dangereuses, his own translation of The House of Bernarda Alba, and The Sins of Sister Juana, in which he also appeared. As a performer, he won the 1994 Eliot Norton Award for Outstanding Actor for performances in Amadeus and God’s Country.
