Full cast and creative team have been announced for the North Shore Music Theatre’s production of the Tony Award-winning musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, to run August 12-31. The production, which will open on August 14, will be directed by Jeremy Dobrish, with choreography by Dan Knechtges and music direction from Brian Usif.

The show follows six young people in the throes of puberty, who are overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, as they learn that winning isn’t everything and that losing doesn’t necessarily make you a loser. At each performance, four audience volunteers are selected and invited on stage to participate in the Bee. It features music and lyrics by William Finn, a book by Rachel Sheinkin, conception by Rebecca Feldman, and original direction by James Lapine.

The cast features Emy Baysic (Marcy Park), Miguel Cervantes (Chip Tolentino), Hannah Del Monte (Logainne Schwartzandgrubenierre), Molly Ephraim (Olive Ostrovsky), Demond Green (Mitch Mahoney), Clifton Guterman (Leaf Coneybear), Michael Mastro (Vice-Principal Douglas Panch), Eric Peterson (William Barfee), and Sally Wilfert (Rona Lisa Perretti).
The creative team includes Beowulf Borritt (sets), Jennifer Caprio (costumes), and Jeff Davis (lighting).
