American Rep, Actors Shakespeare Project et al Set for Shakespeare in the Square

The Shakespeare in the Square festival will present outdoor Elizabethan theater throughout Harvard Square, August 1-3, featuring three award winning local theater organizations: American Repertory Theatre, Actors’ Shakespeare Project, and Revels.

American Repertory Theatre will present Shakespeare Slams, Directed by A.R.T. Company Member Thomas Derrah. The play is a modern-day Shakespearian mash-up featuring 17 performers in a multidisciplinary, energetic approach to the Bard’s verse. Actor’s Shakespeare Project will present Love’s Labour’s Lost, Shakespeare’s sweet and hilarious dance of courtship. Both Shakespeare Slams and Love’s Labour’s Lost will be performeded each day of the festival.

Other performers in the festival include the Commonwealth Morris Men, Orion Sword Dancers , and Tapestry and Tom Zajack Trio.
