The Lyric Stage Company of Boston has announced an additional extension of its production of the musical Avenue Q, which will now run through July 1. Spiro Veloudos has directed the production.

Part flesh, part felt, and packed with heart, Avenue Q is a laugh-out-loud musical featuring music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, and a book by Jeff Whitty.

The show tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. There, he meets the girl next door, a Republican, an internet sexpert, and Gary Coleman, along with other colorful types who help Princeton finally discover his purpose in life. Winner of the Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book.

The cast includes John Ambrosino, Elise Arsenault, Harry McEnerny V, Davron S. Monroe, Jenna Lea Scott, Erica Spyres, and Phil Tayler.

The production features musical direction by Catherine Stornetta, choreography by Ilyse Robbins, scenic design by Katherine Kawecki, costume design by David Cabral, lighting design Frank Meissner, Jr., and sound design by Arshan Gailus. Additional creative team members include puppet coach Roxanna Myhrum and puppetry instructor Jonathan Little.
