Roller Disco the Musical!, an unauthorized stage parody of the film Roller Boogie, will begin performances at Oberon on May 30, in advance of a June 13 opening.

Aiming for a Spring 2013 Off-Broadway opening, the musical features a book by Sam Forman and Jen Wineman, with lyrics by Forman, and music by Eli Bolin. The production will feature direction and choreography by Wineman.

Based on the cult classic 1979 film that starred Linda Blair and Jim Bray, the disco-infused musical love story will star Jacqui Grilli as Debbie Sinclair and Ahmad Maksoud as Johnny Max, with Kenard Jackson, Mariah MacFarlane, Mark Mauriello, Kevin B. McGlynn, Kenneth Miller, DJ Petrosino, Marissa Rae Roberts, Misch Whitaker and Claudia Yanez.

The creative team includes James O'Leary (musical director), Dan Jentzen (lighting/video), Aaron Mack (sound), Melissa Trn (costumes) and Victor Yambao (props).
