The previously announced Boston Pops’ world premiere of The Dream Lives on: A Portrait of The Kennedy Brothers, at Symphony Hall in Boston on May 18 and 19, will be recorded live for later release.

The recording will feature narration by Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, Ed Harris, and Cherry Jones, and also feature the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, under the direction of Keith Lockhart.

Written by composer Peter Boyer and lyricist Lynn Ahrens, this new multi-media work combines quotes from speeches by brothers John, Robert, and Edward Kennedy, with original text and video, accompanied by a dramatic orchestral and choral score.

The Boston Pops will release both an audio recording and a video exclusive featuring interviews with Peter Boyer, Lynn Ahrens, and Keith Lockhart, and excerpts from The Dream Lives On. In addition, Boston’s WCVB-TV5 will feature a full-length performance of the new work as part of a Memorial Day television special, An American Salute: The Pops at 125, May 31, at 7:30pm.

The recording will be available at the Symphony Shop, and also online at www.bostonpops.org.
