Johanna Day to Star in Vineyard Playhouse’s Memory House

Tony nominee Johanna Day will star in Kathleen Tolan’s Memory House at the Vineyard Playhouse on Martha’s Vineyard, according to The New York Times. The play, to be directed by Claudia Weill, will run August 12-September 5.

Memory House concerns a mother and her teenage daughter grappling with the past and facing an uncertain future while a pie bakes in the oven. Day, who is currently starring on Broadway in August: Osage County, received a Tony Award nomination for her role in Proof. Her many other stage credits include A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Peter and Jerry, Almost an Evening, The Rainmaker, Satellites, and How I Learned to Drive.

The Vineyard Playhouse’s Main Stage season also includes Fly, by Trey Ellis and Ricardo Khan, directed by Ricardo Khan (June 17-July 11) and Jon Lipsky’s Walking the Volcano, directed by MJ Bruder Munafo (July 15-August 8). The company’s Out-of-doors at the Tisbury Amphitheater productions will include Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew, directed by Johanna McKeon (July 22-August 9) and the children’s series The Fabulists (July and August).
