Controversial writer/performer Mike Daisey will develop a new work as part of Cape Cod Theatre Project’s 2012 season, to be directed by Jean-Michele Gregory.

Daisey has come under fire in recent weeks after NPR’s This American Life discovered he had fabricated several details in his critically acclaimed solo performance, The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs. He has since apologized for the inaccuracies. (For more details, see TheaterMania’s previous story.)

Cape Cod Theatre Project’s season will also include Chrysalis by Joshua Allen, American Hero by Bess Wohl, and The Money Shot by Neil LaBute. In addition, Mona Mansour, Sharr White, and Meghan Kennedy have been named as writers-in-residence.

In related news, there will be an intimate cocktail party on May 7, from 7pm to 9pm to benefit
the Cape Cod Theatre Project, and to celebrate its first season with new Artistic Director, Hal Brooks.
